New Orleans Saints tight end Taysom Hill will miss the rest of the season with a torn ACL, interim coach Darren Rizzi announced Monday.

Hill appeared to take a helmet to his left knee while running for a first down late in the 21-14 loss to the Los Angeles Rams. His knee bent back awkwardly as he fell to the ground, and he remained down as athletic trainers attended to him.

Teammates and several Rams players knelt on the ground as trainers tested Hill’s leg before calling for a cart. Hill got on the cart as the crowd chanted his name, and he waved to the fans before being driven off the field.

Hill led the team with five catches for 37 yards and carried the ball five times for 10 yards before his injury.
