Giants WR Slayton ruled out for game vs. Eagles

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. — New York Giants wide receiver Darius Slayton has been ruled out for Thursday night’s game against the Philadelphia Eagles because of a hamstring injury.

The Giants (1-4) are already without star wide receiver Malik Nabers, who tore his ACL several weeks back.

Slayton was injured late in Sunday’s 26-14 loss to the New Orleans Saints. He was listed as a nonparticipant in a practice projection all this week.

But despite the “out” designation, New York had been holding out hope.

“I’d say we’ll take it all the way up to the end like you usually do on short weeks,” coach Brian Daboll said Tuesday.

Daboll was also talking about right tackle

“If you think about it, I've never held a job in my life. I went from being an NFL player to a coach to a broadcaster. I haven't worked a day in my life.”
